Usually, its a pet name. Me and mine always call each other baby and yes, when he refers to me to his friends or mine he'll say, that's my baby! I take it to be very sweet!! No-one loves anyone more than their baby!

I think that when a guy says you're his baby, he's holding you dear and near to his heart. Every man whose ever called me baby, did so affectionately because he cared about me.

It may mean he just doesn't want to confuse your name with another girl's name he might be seeing or it may just be his sweet way of reminding people your his girl.

it means that he loves you and only you(sometimes that's the case) but anyway that only means that you are in his heart and no one else is.it just basically means that you are his girl.
