It is actually Christina who started the name calling. She gave Derek the name Mc Dreamy when she was tired of hearing Meredith wine about him. Then mark joined the cast and he became Mc Steamy. Finally came Nancy, Derek's sister who became Mc Hotty, George gave her that one. There are two theories on why the MC. the first is that it is an abbreviation for the accreditation a surgeon receives to perform surgeries. The second is that when Christina gets mad at Meredith, Meredith is eating lunch at the time and it is a McDonalds joke.

it got started when she described dr. Shepperd as a stub muffin, later a stud mcmuffin. the other girls though it was lame so she came up with a dreamy mcmuffin and finally just a mcdreamy muffin or mcdreamy for short. when sloan came to visit the fist time she experimented with nicknames til she came up with mcsteamy.

nothing......theyre just really lame.....they think its funny......but its not.......at all........they just like putting "Mc" in front of everything.......ok haha gettin old.....
