Green Day hates Bush and he is telling a story of the Jesus of Suburbia that does not want to be an American Idiot, such as Bush.

the first song on the american idiot album is of the same name, its one of their most popular songs. lead singer billie joe is very anti Bush and I think this song is directed at his supporters...I dont know, I'm just guessing :D
