Depends on the situation, but a plain white button-down shirt never fails. If it's a new situation in business, play it conservative and NO flashy colors. Save French cuffs for social evening occasions. And NEVER a colored shirt with a white collar - looks too clownish - unless, of course, you ARE going to the circus.

I would go with a solid color nothing too contrasting with the color of the suit. Also French cuffs are coming into style.
