Think up the plot (the basic idea of what happens in the story)
Make an outline
Think of where and when your story takes place (did it happen 200 years ago or in 2006? Is the setting in Ancient Greece or modern-day United States?)

Try to stick to something that you know a lot about--you know about America, what activities Americans do, etc. This will be easier.

best of wishes.

Take a section of your life that taught you a lesson. Expound on it, based on the instructor's rules. FYI: Remember to rewrite until you have what you want to say down on the page as you want it said. It usually makes outstanding papers because, most of the time, you find you want to add more to your first draft. If you're not careful with the time frame, you don't have time to do that. My recommendation: a minimum of 3 rough drafts. Good luck.
