The whole thing is spilt in half and the wires are all over the place?

Send it back to Apple. They should fix it, but that costs money...unfortunatly. If it is still under warrenty, then they could replace it for you.

Fortunately for you Apple products are al lmade by apple, all the components arent made form al ldiffernet companies like in many PC products. They have great customer service so give them a call and tell them yourr poblem. Most likely if it is split in have you will have to get a new one. Good luck!
