I just bought my computer not even a month ago. It's a brand new compaq laptop and i love it to pieces seeing how im under 16 and paid for it out of my own pocket. Starting yesterday whenever i open my internet, after a few minutes a box shows up saying there's been an error and i need to "send" or "dont send" an error report. You've probably gotten this once in a while, but i keep getting it every single time i try to surf the net. I don't have limewire and i havent downloaded off of any sites. Could it be a virus or something?

if it is a virus the free edition of avg available from http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ does a good job. also use http://www.zonelabs.com/ (firewall) http://www.lavasoft.com/ (ad-aware) http://www.safer-networking.org/ (spybot s&d) http://www.ccleaner.com/ (deletes unwanted files)

Would need more information.
Do you get it at the very first page, when it tries to load or after your surfing for a while.
Without that all I can suggest is,
(FIRST, you can get viruses from email and some even from just going to a website, but you ARE running an anti-virus... right :) )
1) Get the latest windows updates (which may work if are able to be on for a few minutes)
2) Try running the IE setup again and have it repair.
3) Do a scandisk of the hard drive and then defragment it.
4) In Win ME, XP, and so forth there is a registery roll back... I forget what it is called (restore or something, in START > PROGRAMS > APPLICATION > SYSTEM TOOLS........ Im on 98se). You can try rolling it back to a date before you had the problem.
As a note it may not even be IE, other programs running can sometime force a crash of IE (like an anti-virus), try making sure everything, yes even the anti-virus (for one try) is not running and then open ie and see if it crashes).
Probably not much help, but need more info.

It more than likely is a virus of some sort.
Do you have any antivirus or antispyware programs on it? If not, I suggest you do so immediately. You don't need to download anything to be infected. Simply going to a page with a virus on it is enough. With myspace as popular as it is, and since they allow code to be hidden in their pages, if you are a frequent myspacer, you might have picked it up this way.. Other ways include from a friend off an infected floppy (or CD if it was made on an infected computer), reading emails with viruses in them or with virus attachments.. and so on.
If you are familiar with it, I suggest reformatting it, or at least trying system restore to see if that clears up the problems.
Most computer enthusiasts will suggest reformatting (completely starting the computer from scratch - nothing at all on it) every 6 months.

Try running your spyware program and scanning your computer. Also, when you get on the internet, go to tools, and windows update and update your virus definitions. That could be your problem.
