Sure is. Happens for all kinds of reasons. Its nothing to be concerned about.
Good God people, if every woman went to the doctor for every skipped or late period she's never be working, and doctors offices would never be able to take real patients. Holy crap.
Women were'nt meant to cycle like the tide. Sometimes you just skip.

She might be real late or can be skipping. It depends on other things to. Birth control pills can cause you to skip cycles or not have one at all. If she is hanging out with another female friend alot their cycles will start to match up. Stress will also cause you to miss a period. Anything new going on in the home...new job, car, house or change? These along with other factors can change a womens body. Smoking and drinking can shorten the period but if it keeps up see a doc.

It sounds like she's having an anovulatory cycle. Without ovulation, her body won't be triggered to have a period. It's common, and many factors can cause it, including stress, or just regular hormonal fluctuations.
Cycles can vary. If it keeps happening, or she goes more than 2 months without a period, it's probably time to call the OB/GYN.

A missed period can occur for many reasons. The fact that she was continuously testing probably has something to do with it. Stress and being anxious and wishful thinking can cause a period not to come.

Home pregnancy tests are not always very accurate!! I have had several that were wrong. If she is pregnant, it is possible her levels are not high enough for the HPT to detect.
Yes women can miss periods. They can also have a period while they are pregnant.
Go to doc and ask for urine test. Sometimes they are not very accurate in the very beginning. I have also has a false reading on that.
If you really need to know, for whatever reason, ask doc for a blood test. it is the most accurate. He may or may not do it...depending on your reasoning as to 'why' you need to know so badly.

yep it happens. i once did not have a cycle for 8 months - no pregnancy, just underweight at the time. i have missed periods after gaining to a healthy weight, so it is not impossible. your partner knows her body. 17 days late should definitely show up on a pregnancy test.

stress, weight gain or loss, all sorts of things can cause a woman to miss her period. if you guys have taken a test and it's negative, don't worry about it. It happens. or have her call her Dr. to make sure things are OK. I think you'd have to miss more than one period to really worry about what's going on.
