How do I "open" my Roper clothes washer to see if I can fix it?

My washer smells mildewy and is off-balance during the spin cycle. I want to see if there is anything I can do, before calling a repair person.

Besides its own brand, Roper makes others. In any case, there is probably two ways you can get a look inside -- from the rear (sometimes you have to unscrew a panel) and from the removal of a panel below the door. Many of these panels can be removed just with a little prying or with a screw drive or similar tool.

As far as mildew is concerned, I look first for the easy thing to do. Spray some bleach in the drum and start it up empty for a few minuts. If that doesn't work, clean out the pipe that the exhaust goes through. Try to attend to the whole pipe all the way to the outside. If you can't get it all, then put more bleach in the drum and run it longer to see if the vaporization will clean the pipe. Of course, check with the level for possible off-balance problem. If it is off balance, you can adjust the legs. Often they are screwed in and you can turn the right screw for each leg. Don't forget adjusting front-to-rear. While you have the panels off, you might want to vacuum out the dust/lint. There is a special brush you can use to clean out the path the exhausetd war air travels. And, of course, check the filter to be sure its clean and odor free.

Put a level on the top and see if it is level both ways. Also you need the rubber cups over the adjusting legs. I have never worked on a Roper and I do not know who makes them, but on some the whole cabinet lifts off. The smell could be from your stand pipe.

waiting made clothing. the only subject i've got got here upon is that a length 8 gown constantly seems to be a touch tight around the chest and shoulders yet different than that each thing is great.
