I heard somewhere that when Judy Garland, (who played Dorothy in the Wixard of Oz) died, there was a tornado in Kansas. I know she died of an overdose, but this tornado fact puzzled yet intrigued me.

I think you me understood me. I know that it was the overdose that killed her. But I heard that on the day of her death there was a tornado somewhere in Kansas. I'm not implying that she died of the tornado, but rather the tornado as a symbolism after she died. Is this true, that there was a tornado?

I am a huge fan of Judy Garland, this is the first time I have heard that rumor. Its kind of cute actually, but you didn't really buy that did you? It was definatley an overdose, and she is as dead as Elvis!!! Now theres some funny stories!!!

I am so sorry - I did misread your question!!! Now that I understand it, I agree with you, that if there was a tornado in Kansas that day, it would be very intrigueing!!! Again, I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Can you people read??? She knows that she died of an overdose, she was simply asking if there was a tornado the same day in Kansas. Sorry but reading the responses really irritated me!!! As for the tornado, it is possible but I think it is probably a myth.

Just like the kid from Leave it to Beaver died in Nam and paul Mccartney 'died' in the early 70's. The Intner is now a great way to spread rumors faster and to way more people than word of mouth or tabloids.
The tornado story is jsut another Hollywood myth.

This reference comes from an article which used her the tornado as a metaphor with her battle with alcoholism.
