I would have to say that in general, a lot of men who are 30 now, are not mature enough to be in a long term relationship. Some of them CAN, but there are a lot of them who are not ready to take responsibility. A lot of them think of themselves only and don't want to take responsibility for anything. Trust me, I'm married to someone like that. If only I would have listened to my parents 10+ years ago....

Yes and no. I think womens lib really threw the male baby-boomers into feeling they were not needed as much as the previous generation of males. The baby-boomers role models were men that took care of finances and household jobs that required elbow grease. This is what they new a man to be and when the women's lib movement came in they tried to be sensitive to the fact that their wives wanted more responsibility and to be treated as an equal, not as a helpless female. It was confusing for these men to know what their role as a husband was suppose to be, chivalry was treated as a disease. So I think that they more or less learned to take a back-seat to their partner, therefore making them seem like, you said it, "SISSY MEN".
As for my take on the movement, I wouldn't be able to raise or support my family as a single mom, if it hadn't been for the stand these women took. However, there are still a few men out there that still have the need to be a man. I am not talking about the neandrethals either. But the man that stands up and takes action to protect his family at all costs. I have only ran across a few of them, but they are out there. So yes I agree that men are weaker because of weak male role models during the baby-boomer era, but I also think that the boys being raised by strong female role models can change this general attitude. We will just have to wait and see.....good question!

Some men are like that. Had to go through the "get in touch with your feelings' crap. Course, fathers aren't the only parents in a house, moms could be blame for things also.

Marriages have always been short, boys have always been troubled and it's a fact that we are sexually aware younger now, because of constant exploitation of the teen market, something that isn't their fault at all.
It's not because fathers are weak. Even if they were, they would only have inherited that property from their own.
