poverty is a big issue (that is other than medical issues like aids) so i reckon sth that can make lots of cheap, nutritious food? sth like GMF

The development of some sort of fuel system other then the present Hybrids that will allow a auto to get almost unlimited mileage. (This will help the economy and the air) Some sort of NEW water purifying system. The one we are using at present just doesn't set right with most people. That's why everyone is buying bottled water and some of the bottled water on the market is just straight out of a tap. This last one is one of the most important in my book. Stop world hunger and disease. The world hunger would not be so hard, as the disease, but I do believe that the US government has many of the diseases in place in order to keep the world, or at least the US population under control. I mean look at the technology that we have. You can't tell me that the government has not been able to find a cure for a lot of the more common diseases and also, why is it that we never hear of hardly any of the heads of state or joint chiefs of staff. or even congress ever getting more than a head cold, other than Nixon. Well, you asked and I gave my opinion.

Clean air, clean water, unlimited food sources, acceptance, tolerance, compromise, independance on all levels, AND a really good Banana Split, when I want one.
Urgent is a great word to describe not only the needs of society, now, but the current global situation.
We also need a commonality in the thought that the Universe takes care of the details.

Cheap, renewable electricity. I'm a big backer of marine energy but the answer lies in having an energy mix.
I think that generation is more important than energy efficiency or carbon capture.
For the benifit of mankind, portable refrigeration. Something we already have but dont use enough. I'm thinking specifically of transporting AIDS drugs.
