I have an mp3 player that should have 4gb memory but for some reason windows xp decided to put a patition in and is now only 2gb,Ideas anyone

XP doesn't just decide to partition a drive. It's either formatted FAT16, which is limited to 2gb, or there's more than one partition. You need to make it a single FAT32 partition.

Try this:-

Start
Control Panel
Administration Tools
Computer Management

In the Disk Management section you should be able to remove the 2 x 2gb partitions and create a new 4gb one.

As the person above said format the partition as FAT32

go to "my computer" when the mp3 player is plugged in to the computer. then double click on the icon. highlight anything that is in there and then press delete. that should tdo the trick

hey dear i have same mp3 player. and in mp3 player we cant make partition .. if you have any problem... than format it.
