I will be working in Ft. Meade, Md and have been looking at housing prices (very expensive) and am probably settling on an apartment complex. Because of this I can live close to Ft. Meade. What is the best city, apartment complex, etc. ? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you want to stay near your job I would suggest Glen Burnie. My father was stationed at Ft. Meade in the 90's and of all the places besides Baltimore, Glen Burnie was the least expensive...and still is. I lived in Columbia for 13 years and there pricey as well. Glen Burnie will be your best bet just avoid, Meade Villiage and Pine Near City (sp)

My friend worked at Fort Meade and he lived in Ellicott City. Still a bit more of the small town feel and tends be a little cheaper, although its not right next to Fort Meade or anything - about 16 miles.

One of my friends lived in Essex County and liked it there. I lived on the Eastern Shore just over the bridge on Rt. 50. I suggest near Rt. 50 as you can jump on the subway and go anywhere-especially needed in the summer months as they are both tourist destinations and traffic gets very bad.
Rt. 50 can then take you straight down to Ocean City, and the Delaware beaches.
Be sure to visit St.Michael's near Easton, and have some chicken at English's in Cambridge if it's still open.
