Ca(OH)2(aq) + HCl(aq) -->

a) Water is a product

b) When balanced the coefficient of Ca(OH)2(aq) is 1

c) Ions cannot appear in the net ionic equation because they always cancel out on both sides of the equation

d) H+(aq) appears in the net ionic equation

CH2=CH2 + Br2 ------------> CH2Br-CH2Br ethene bromine a million,2 dibromo ethane Which of here statements are actual ? a) The product is CH2Br-CH2Br : actual b) it incredibly is an removing reaction : fake because it quite is an addition reaction c) CH2=CH2 is an alkyne :fake as ethene is an alkene, an alkyne has a C-C triple bond d) The product will incorporate purely double bonds : fake because of the fact the C-C double bond opens as much as accomodate the two Br atoms coming in (including), so as that the product has purely all single bonds

(a) to (d) are true ....... (e) is false
(a) 2OH^- + 2H^+ ----> 2H2O
water exists as molecules
(b) Ca(OH)2(aq) + 2HCl(aq) --> CaCl2 (aq) + 2H2O (l)
calcium chloride floats around as ions viz. as calcium Ca^2+
ions and chloride Cl^- ions
(c) In net ionic equations, the products are either a gas, or a
precipitate or water molecules.......ions which are floating
around before and after the reaction are known as 'spectator'
ions
(d) true: as shown in (a) above
(e) Cl^- will be floating around as 'spectator' ions, and as such
they should not be included in the net ionic equation
