I barely made it the last time they didn't produce new episodes for a season. Are the writers of the show and the programming decisions killing "Lost?"

No Lost isn't going to die a slow death because of the hiatus they are taking. The reason behind the long wait is due to the amount of time it takes to film the episodes. (This was clearly stated on the DVD of season 2) Based on what we have all seen from the previews, it can be assumed that there are episodes ready to watch... I for one don't want to have re-runs through out the season because they are having to film them as they go... So I will patiently wait for the return in February '07.

The American public has such a "want it now" attitude that it has been slowly dying for a while now because they won't tell us anything new or of any real significance. They use the shows popularity get you watching that time slot and then they slip a new show in there hoping that since you have not been watching anything else during that time you will watch their new show. Then when people start watching that show they put lost back in that time slot and move the other show to compete with another networks popular show. ABC does that a lot for example putting "What about brian" on during Grey's Anatomy time slot.

Waiting a long time in between seasons didn't seem to hurt The Sopranos. I don't know if Lost is in the same category, but it does have a following, so I guess people will wait. If the season in February doesn't live up to expectations, however, I think they will lose their following.

It's frustrating to have to wait so long, but I found it more irritating to have so many repeats. It seemed like everytime I put the show on in past seasons it was an episode I had already watched.

this is a great mystery, I don't understand why a 2 and a half month break 6 episodes into a season is a good idea. It seems like they would lose viewers...I always act all bad, but you know what I will be there sitting, anticipating when it finally comes bacjk
