nahh i dont think so..they need more starting pitchers..they should try and trade lastings milledge for some top pitchers and top pitching prospects..their relief pitchers are old, aging, and leaving and signing with other teams..i wouldnt think they'll win until the year 2011 at the earliest

Too many question marks at this point. Does Glavine return? Can the Mets outbid the Yankees for Zito? What's the future of Pedro? The Phillies have improved and should push the Mets even more next season. As I see things right now, they will probably win the division by fewer games over the Phillies than last year. The Phillies should make the playoffs and you witnessed what happened this past playoff season during those short 5 games series. Let's just say the Mets have as good a chance as any team in baseball. Frankly I hate the 5 game series. I think all series should be best of 7.

Just calm down and see what happens. The season has only ended a few moths ago. The Mets are in bad need for pitchers right now. Some of the stress have been lifted with El Duque getting healthy and Glavine returning but we need more than that. Relief pitchers? No reason to worry. Offense? No reason to worry, either. If you've seen the '07 schedule, the Mets most likely will be facing a lot of tough teams. But I have faith in the 'Boys from Flushing' and I love them to death. Are they gonna win it all? Well, all I can say right now is hopefully. Anyway, Let's Go Mets!!! :)

You pitching is still a big question mark. If you resign Glavine and maybe another Marquee Starter like Barry Zito, I would say you'd be the NL favorite. The 2007 World Series goes through the Bronx!

If they can get together a good starting 5, they can. They have one of the best bullpens in baseball, even with the occasional gasps from Wagner.
They have a lot of offense, and last year they got lucky with all the offense being strong the entire year. You'll have to see if they can keep that up, because one or two slumps or injuries can ruin a season.

No. Maybe.
They could use a pitcher and if they get to the playoffs healthy and playing well, I think the Cardinals proved this year any of the playoff teams can win it if you are playing well, good pitching, good defense, clutch hitting, and solid teaam play, limit your mistakes and anything can happen in a 7 game series. Go A's biatch

If we get Zito and another frontline starter, then yes, we can win it all. If we dont get pitching help, I'm not gonna count on it.

Even if they Sign zito, i still dont love their Pitching. Zito has never pitched well in huge games. And Pedro, Glavine...i dunno.. then they let Bradford walk away to Baltimore... YOu'll certainly hit, but yer pitching worries me. that said, i think theyre still best in East and will win division, but WS.. its possible, but cant say Likely.
