A friend of mine has a son whos just gotten into Pokemon but she is a little concerned that it is related with spiritism. Could someone tell me if there is anything about it that could be related to spiritism? E.G. - Background, characters, anything to do with it?

Thanks a bunch!!

They might be meaning it's related to spirptualism like the amber spyglass was. with the whole everyone having their own individual animal/spirit guide type thing. If everyone had their own favourite pokemon or specific type then that could be related in the same way.... it could also be to do with the different refferences to the elements etc..

Either way, whether it is or whether it isn't its still a fun game, has something for pretty much everyone and promotes good moral issues.

There's no real harm in the game... ^_^

Not really spiritualism. The main message underlying the game is teamwork and respect for others. Yes, it is a fighting game but it is about things working together (especially in the cards and cartoons). My two children and myself have been into pokemon for years and have not found much about spiritualism.
That is more for other games. Your frien should not be worried about this game but if she is concerned that her child might be susceptible to influence, she should try and have a mature talk with her child about what is worrying her and why she thinks that.

It's a game. That's it. Just a game. All games are what you make of them. My wife and I LOVE plating Pokemon. Any game you play could have a different meaning for you than someone else.

Play games, have fun, and share with others!

No i don't believe so. My sister where playing this in her game boy and it wasn't even a violent game. The worst thing that could happen to your Pokemon was to faint.

Negativo...I think Pokemon is safe for all ages...I have played this game so many times and nope...theres nothing evil about it... I think Cartoon Networks new toons eg Foster Home for im.. is stupid and will make your kids stupid...same for Samurai Jack...same for Billy and Mandy...same for KND...etc. I wish we still had only those cartoons that made me laugh when i was growing up.

Well it depends on what game it is... like pokemon red for GB...pokemn fire red/leaf green fr GBA... that kinda thing

Ive played that kind of stuff...its fun..the worst part about games like that is how long it takes to level your characters.
