I don't think a narcissist needs any help, narcissism isn't a disease, is it?

You can't. Instead of beating yourself up trying, hope the person gets into therapy, and run in the opposite direction if they don't. Narcassists are not likely to change, and their behavior usually causes turmoil for everyone around.

Well, you have to state the facts in a clam and monotone voice as if it were nothing at all.

examples:
My little brother does that too.
Yea, you look as good as anyone else.
Other people that get A's on their tests too, big deal.

Basically you are bringing them back down to earth.

the best way is to learn to reflect what they are actually saying.
learn reflective listening. eventually a person will hear themselves.
just keep listening with empathy and reflect the feelings beneath what they say about themselves.

you can't. they do not see their beliefs as something wrong.

You can somehow manipulate a narc.
Suck up and agree to everything he/she does/create.
You will be along with the popular guys/girls in notime
Beware 1 mistake or comment and your discarded just as easily.
