Firstly, you must be my long lost twin sister. You avie is the same as mine.

You're more likely to conceive a boy if...

• You have sex on the day of ovulation, as male sperm are thought to swim faster and reach the egg first

• you reach orgasm before your partner, as this releases an alkaline fluid, thought to be more male-sperm friendly than the vagina's natural acidity

• you have deep penetration during sex, such as rear-entry (doggie-style)

• your partner has a high sperm count. This is because male sperm are not as strong as female sperm, and so the higher the count, the more chance there is of a male sperm reaching the egg first

• you avoid sex for a week before ovulation and then only have sex once on ovulation day, to keep the sperm count high

• your partner suggested the love-making

• you make love at night

• you make love on odd days of the month

• your partner keeps his genitals cool by wearing boxer shorts and loose-fitting trousers

• you eat salty food, plenty of meat, fish, white flour, pasta, fresh fruit, certain vegetables, but avoid milk and dairy products, such as yoghurt and cheese, nuts, chocolate, shellfish and wholemeal bread.

Hi, I have 3 wonderful girls and am trying for a boy, i have searched the Internet for tips and the 1 i found the most is to have intercourse as near to ovulation as possible, apparently the male sperm swim faster than the female, if only it was like that in every day life, when i ask my partner to do something he,s never very fast at doing it..lol..Anyway good luck with it..

Sex is determined by the sperm- if you really want a boy, you can go to a fertility specialist. There is a way that they can separate the x(girl) from the y(boy) sperm and then do artificial insemination. This is the only real way. Eating certain foods, using different positions or douching with crazy things are just old wives tales.

Your husband's genes determine the gender of the baby. The only way to increase the "chances" are going high tech.

You cant determin the sex, let nature take its course. The only way this may be possible is for serious medical/genetic reasons then it would have to be a test tube baby. Be thankful there are many who cant have kids

Articially is the only way to choose the sex of your child.

Friends of mine have 3 boys, 3 boys and 3 girls - none have a mix. Very unfair naturally.

If you want to have a girl, have sex just after the menstruation for one week, every other day would be perfect, but you can have it daily... but no more sex for the next 8 days.

If you want to have a boy, do not have sex until one week after the last day of menstruation... you can have relations until the next menstruation.

This is for ladies whose menstruation last 3-5 days. If your menstruation last for 7 days, you skip 2 days.
To have a girl, have sex for 5 days after the menstruation. To have a boy, do not have sex until 5 days after the last day of menstruation.

good luck - let me know when he's made!

Lots of old wives tales but medically it's not down to you. The sex of a child is determined by the sperm not the egg.

ok, 'male' spem are faster swimmers and dont live as long as 'f'emale 'sperm so to improve chances of a boy, try to have sex as close to ovulation as possible, or once the egg is released.
