Try massages and slow exercising movements. Build up muscles in your back. Walk a lot. Takes time but some drugs can help too. Ask your doctor. I had a slipped disc whenI was 40 and suffered a lot. I am now 60 and I have no back pain thanks to regular exercise.

I don't believe there is an herbal alternative to narcotics for pain relief. Actually, most narcotics are derived from an organic source- the opium poppy, which is why most narcotics are known as opiates. The opium poppy has been cultivated since some hundreds of years BC, and the pain relieving properties have been known since then. Although there are synthetic opiates now in use, they are all chemical cousins of the opiates derived from the poppy. So in a sense, all narcotics are about as natural an alternative as it gets. The pharmaceutical industry and research scientists since time began have all worked and looked to find other more effective means, and possibly less addictive means to control pain, but there hasn't been anything found that is more effective than what we already have. Herbologists in the Middle Ages and in the arabic world were all pretty adept at identifying plants and such that were effective in dealing with a good many disorders, and it's unlikely that they overlooked something in such high demand as a good pain reliever. Unfortunately for you, spinal injuries take a long time to heal and controlling the pain is an ongoing challenge. If you are in serious pain, the narcotics are really the only options you currently have. Fortunately there are a wide array of choices available, and depending on your tolerance, you should be able to work out a pain relief management with your physician that meets your needs. If not, then perhaps you should look into a treatment clinic for chronic or severe pain management to help you in this area. I'm sorry, but there just aren't any better things to suggest to you. There just isn't anything better than the opium poppy, morphine in flower form.

The homeopathic remedy Hypericum is unparalleled for nerve pain. I always recommend patients take it (along with Arnica for the trauma) when they visit the dentist.
I'd recommend the same for you. If you can, get Hypericum in a 200C potency and Arnica in the same. If your only source is a health store start with 30C and see if you can't order 200C from a homeopathic pharmacy, These Rx work well together and you can take them 1 tablet each at the same time, 3X a day. for 2 weeks. You can take the Hypericum as needed.

There are many pain management alternatives that do not included medication. Hypnotherapy and Biofeedback work wonders. There are also thinks like massage therapy, reiki and homeopathic medicine. I have chronic pain from several causes and find the most effective treatment to be a combination of hypnotherapy and various massage techniques.

Narcotic's usually don't work very well for nerve pain, you should ask your doctor about a medication like neurontin which is a seizure med but is used for nerve pain relief with good success.

True. This last week alone almost killed me. Too many things happening all at once. What business does Bilderberg have with a single Asian man that has no friends or family? I don't know what the heck their beef with me is.
