Alot do it because of the kids, yet, the bad relationships are hurting the kids too.
Alot are insecure. They loved the person, and by loveing them so much, they believed when they were being told they were or are no good, and how noone else would want them.
Alot stay for the security. They feel it's best to have a roof over their head instead of having to worry about not haveing.
All the reruns are because we don't learn to find attraction in a different type of person we are attracted to, before entering a new relationship. IF we all did this, we wouldn't see re-runs.

It's sad but true. People get stuck - scared of being alone. Personally, I'd rather be alone and happy, than in a relationship and miserable.
