We're in the middle of a huge storm and we couldn't get anybody out to fix it today. I'm afraid to lose electricity.

Definately do not touch!!! As long as you called the company, you will just have to wait. However, I would suggest you keep an eye on it, if the branch cut the wire covering, it could spark and a fire could start. I am a volunteer fire fighter and we see this frequently. We as firefighters can't touch the lines, we just monitor the situation and have to wait on the electric co. to cut the power before any removal of tree limbs can be done. If you are still in the middle of the storm, and you think you could lose power, prepare now. Check your flashlights, get out the camp stove and make the other necessary arrangements so you are ready. Good Luck and happy holidays!!!

Do not touch the branch. A friend of mine got electrocuted climbing a tree and then fell on the wires! Just go buy candles or flashlights. Call the electric company or your local City Hall/Police Station. They will get it fixed quickly. But, please don't touch the branches.

Depends on which wire. If it is the wire supplying electricity to your house, clip the branch off, your wire will be insulated. If the branch is on a regular power line, you need the utility company to do it, you will die if you do.

This is very unsafe! Do you have a municipal agency, like public works or something similar? If not, you can call the electric company. I work at a police station and we get these requests all the time. PLEASE don't try this yourself. It would be better to lose electricity for a while than to be killed!
