Show source? It's a simple calculation...

If 3/4" = 750 miles, 1" = 1000 miles

(750 miles is 3/4 of 1000 miles)

You don't really need to have a source other than your brain. Do the math. 3/4=750 then 1/4 = 250 so 4/4=1000.
