Ever heard of tafsir ibn kathir? It explains the Quran verse by verse. You might want to read it. we understand the Quran the way the prophet Muhammad explained it to his companions.

the first verses, he didn't built any but he wanted to , coz he was closed minded as urself , and thought that he could reach god (A.W.G.)
the second, tell me where he was mentioned as a prophet ??
he wasnot , he was just a pious man!!
