I'll be looking for any genuine answers. I could be a long, long time waiting !!

Hold on, i think i remember !! I think the origin was in an old music hall. I think there was one particular large lady who used to sing at the end so the people knew it was the end of the show. Don't ask me who or where but i think someone may know.

The fat lady refers to the old steam boilers in factories yrs ago , when the whistle blew it marked th end of the shift , and so the phrase was born , it's not over till the fat lady sings , sorry to be such a bore !!

The opera...usually the female lead is a rather large woman...to be able to have the stamina it takes to hold the long high strenuous notes...The aria sung by the female lead USUALLY occured near the end of all operas written...

I am sure she doesn't want to have anything to do with you in particular...she is too busy singing!!!!

No idea who she is but all she wants you to do is sit and listen to her sing so stop being so paranoid about it. Unless she's really out of tune? Then run as fast as your legs can carry you, don't worry though, she probably won't be able to catch you
