These are normal symptoms of migraine. Not nice are they? If you cant keep any medication down consult your doctor - there are injections they can give you to try and cut down the amount of attacks and the intensity of the attacks.
Also, there might be a trigger to them and the doctor will be able to help you figure out what that is - for me it was a particular brand of contraceptive pill, then years later I found out that chocolate was starting to trigger them off too. You'd be amazed what triggers off an attack.
Good luck x

Migraine Syndrome indicates multiple symptoms. In this condition we are discussing the cranial nerves. When they are inflamed, the part of the body they control will have a symptom appear.. as noted; nausea and vomiting are under the control of the 10th cranial nerve.. the vegus. The visual distress is due to the over-ride of the sympathetic nervous system by the parasympathetic system.. causing dilation of the pupils and blood vessels.
Depending on how many of the cranial nerves are involved, will determine the number of symptoms you will experience.
You will take note however; when pressing at the base of the skull, you will find one side to be much more tender than the other. Suggesting the stress point to initiate the inflammatory process. Meds may reduce the symptoms but do nothing for the irritating factor which initiates the inflammatory process.
By following this process, the doctor of Chiropractic has found; by relieving that irritation center, positive results are obtained. There is always a structural (postural) discrepancy associated with this syndrome

Sounds like a classic migraine. There's alot of medication out there now for migraines.... have tried just over the counter stuff, or had prescriptions? Keep in mind, there are many different types and reasons for getting them, and something modern cures don't work for some people. They do have injectable medications.... that you can't possibly vomit though.... how do you feel about giving yourself a shot???

Sounds to me that you are having true migraines. I know, I have had them since I was seven years old. After trial and error the medication that works best for me is Maxalt-MLT. It is a pill that dissolves on your tongue, so the chances of throwing it up are smaller. Plus, since it dissolves, you don't bring it back up if you do throw up. I also found that if I can catch one early enough sometimes a hot shower helps (sprays hitting the head) or lavender spray on my pillow (just a touch) I also keep a cold face mask in my refrigerator and if once comes along the coldness of the mask can be put on top of where it hurts the most and the tightness of the band around my head sometimes helps.too. Of course nothing helps more than a quiet dark room.

Unfortuantely, this sounds pretty normal for a migraine. If you haven't seen a doctor, I strongly recommend that you do so. Imitrex works for some people; there is also a nasal spray version of Imitrex that is very helpful for people who experience auras, as you appear to. Good luck!
