With current aviation security, you will not be able to fly on someone else's ticket, and you will be arrested if you try to fly on someone else's ID.

You'll have to get the ticket transferred to your name. The airline may not allow this if a special fare was involved, but they will invoke a service charge in any case.

Sadly I think you would have to trade that ticket in and get a refund and use that to buy a new one. It is possible to change the name on a ticket prior to it being used at all (cost me about £50 when I did it once) but this has been used in one direction so I think more stringent rules apply

Talk to the airline as soon as possible - only they will be able to advise if it is a transferable ticket. Above all, DO NOT try and board pretending to be your friend - there is no way they will allow that since 9/11 etc...

Ask the travel agent or airline to change the name on the ticket. You won't be able to fly with your friend's name on the ticket.

Not these days. . .
Most airlines will not fly you anywhere if the name on the ticket is not the name on the ID.
