I read a few books (1 pro christain and 2 non christain and 1 that seamed nutral) and all of them seamed to indicate (some with undeniable evidance) that while the bible is the most coppied text we have access to, many of the one we find to be the oldest are verry diferent from the ones we have today. An example would be the story in which jesus said "he who is without sin cast the first stone". Also is our oldest text Jesus doesent accually talk with the desiples after being reserected he goes strait to heaven and isant coming back untill his second comming. Read "Misquoting Jesus" to c some of the stuff im talking about. Im not saying im atheist I just want to know anyones thoughts on this pro and con.

Wait a moment here. Someone tried to say that we should live according to the ten commandments. Have you read them? Do you know the punishments for breaking these commandments? DEATH!!!
Exodus 31 verse 15
For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.

And again in Leviticus chapter 24 verse 16
Anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD must be put to death. The entire assembly must stone him.

As for the bible being inerrant, in Psalm 19:7 it says
The law of the Lord is perfect.

I have not been around long enough to know what changes have been made but I would suggest the christians seriously reconsider trying to enforce the ten commandments on rational people.

Humans, being imperfect definitely makes mistakes...In typing, translation and so, i mean, the biggest error they made in translating the bible is removing God's name and replacing it with Lord, or God, that is why there are many confusion now to the real identity of Jesus.

Take this as an example: John 1:1 states: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (King James Version)

first phrase was the Word meant singular, second, Word was with God means there are two persons...and last the Word was God became one again....

Isnt it confusing, but if the second phrase translates to the Word was a God...

Later in the same chapter, the apostle John clearly shows that “the Word” is Jesus. (John 1:14) Since the Word is called God, however, some conclude that the Son and the Father must be part of the same God. It is confusing

It's is perfectly normal to question your faith - Jesus did!! Yes the text of the Bible has been changed over time, but not recently. Keep strong, but remember that Jesus does not want mindless followers! Not many people care enough to question their faith, some give it up entirely or blindly follow along. Just try to look at the Bible as ways to liberate yourself for everything that God does not want us to do (10 Commandments) are in the end truly unhealthy anyways. God Bless!

The ancient texts that are being quoted are heretical and that's why they were rejected for inclusion in the canon. You are probably referring to the Gospels of Mary, Thomas, and Judas. Just because they exist doesn't mean they are accurate. In fact, many of the books were pure fabrications written by those who wanted to control the new Christian movement. These writings were not consistant with what the apostles and their successor were preaching and that is why they are not part of the bible.

You mentioned that you have read a few books. Have you read the Bible itself? That's the only way to find out for yourself if it truly is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, as it claims to be. Start in John's Gospel.

Yes I think the Bible has been, either by mistake or deliberately, mis-translated quite a bit. The main theme still shines through but the details are questionable. I hope this helps.

debating about exact words spoken by someone 2, 200 or 2000 years ago, without the benefit of a recording device is a waste of time. this stuff has been re-written so many times by politically motivated writers it can only be considered fantasy at this time.

The bible is full of inconsistencies.

Why would Jesus call out " Father why hath thou forsaken me? ". If Jesus and god are the same person who is he asking ?

Congratulations! There are very few Christians reading anything at all that might contradict their "faith!"
