Something on my daughters gums?
MY daughter woke up this morning with a sore on the side of her gums, looks like a pimple but not quite sure what it is. Its really hurting her. Could anyone tell me what they think it could be? Thanks.

IT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS WHAT IS CALLED A FISTULA. THIS IS DUE TO AN INFECTION IN THE BONE THAT HAS PROGRESSED THROUGH THE GUM AND IS A DRAIN FOR THE PUS.

DOES YOUR DAUGHTER HAVE A CAVITY IN THE TOOTH?

SHE SHOULD SEE A DENTIST ASAP TO GET THE TOOTH TREATED AND AN ANTIBIOTIC FOR THE INFECTION. GIVING AN ANTIBIOTIC ALONE WILL NOT CURE THE PROBLEM. IT WILL ALLEVIATE THE ISSUE FOR A SHORT TIME BUT IT WILL CERTAINLY RETURN.

THE TREATMENT THAT MAY BE RENDERED WOULD LIKELY BE AN EXAMINATION OF THE AREA, AN X-RAY OF THE TOOTH AND REMOVAL OF THE CAVITY OR CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. AT WORST CASE REMOVAL OF THE TOOTH.

IS YOUR DAUGHTER TEETHING, THAT COULD BE ANOTHER CAUSE, IT WOULD THEN BE CALLED AN ERUPTION HEMATOMA AND IS NOT SERIOUS. IT STILL SHOULD BE LOOKED AT BY A DENTIST. THE MORE LIKELY DIAGNOSIS IS AN ABSCESSED TOOTH. EITHER WAY MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE THE DENTIST ASAP.

Try some medicated mouth wash and avoid the sore to be hurted. If it gets well then fine or otherwise consult some dentist.

Sounds like an abcess. Is it the sore that is hurting her or the tooth? It could be a canker sore, which would go away on its own in a few days. Here is a picture of a canker sore.

If u think it is an abscess, u need to take her to a dentist. She will need antibiotics.
