Well, that is a question that only you know the answer to, but I can give you some things to consider, to help you make a well informed decision. Being retired military, I know exactly what you are going through.

1st - Have you accomplished everything that you wanted to do in the Air Force?

2nd - Do you still enjoy being in the military and going to work every day?

3rd - Do you have plans already in place to make your transition back into civilain life?

For me, I had always said that 10 years would be the cutoff for me. If I stayed for 10 years and a day, then I would stay for 20. I was in the Marine Corps and I really loved the job that I was doing and I was having fun (for the majority of the time). Before I knew it, I was reenlisting at 9 years for 4 more. Needless to say, I did 22 years before retiring. My plan when I got to 20 years, was to do 30 years, but I got to the point where I hated going to work and it wasn't fun anymore, so I retired.

Obviously, the jobs in the civilian sector do pay more, but you really don't have job security like you do in the military. It's a gamble. Look to see what all of your available options are both in the military and in the civilain sector. If you do however, decide to get out, make sure that you have everything lined up to make it a smooth transition. I knew of a few people that didn't have a clue as to what they were going to do when they got out, they just wanted out. Needless to say, some of them ended up coming back in.

If you haven't already found this website, check it out, it has a lot of good information in it for you. www.military.com

Good luck with your decision and thank you for your service to our country!! I hope that I helped you a little bit and that I didn't totally confuse you.

Maybe you should put just a little more thought into your question. Obviously you don't give a sh#T about the answer. You really want some pros and cons, provide something to work with.
