sometimes they need to be lanced if they will not go away. Do not let them go too long. I had one this summer, I thought it was a simple boil. Turned out to have ruptured inward and the bacteria ate a 1" hole in my upper leg. I had painful wound packings for weeks. To prevent just try to thoroughly cleanse your skin once daily at least.

Search the internet for this one. My niece had a boil and I found some info on how to help it on the internet. Try using www.ask.com and putting in your question to see what comes up.
