This is just a simple thing I was wondering. I've been getting into exercising again, but as we all know, everyone has a different opinion as to what works and what doesn't...or what's better than what. I've been wondering: Which is better, jogging or going on the treadmill? Some say the treadmill's better 'cause u'd sweat more, and other's say jogging because in a way ur using more of ur body. Any opinions would be helpful and appreciated!! : )

Better on the open road with the wind in your hair than on some mechanical device.

Also the unevenness of the journey is good for the hips and various muscles in the legs.

Western people suffer a lot of hip problems (eg hip replacements) because of walking on flat unnatural surfaces all the time ( eg pavements, floors, etc)

Personally, I like jogging. It is more extroverting. You would also use different muscles, depending on the nature of your route. You will also see much more than jogging in place. Though I am sure treadmills are great in working up a quick sweat or if you just want it as an exercise. Freedom of choice.

Treadmill definitely. It is easier on the knees. You can burn just as much calories as jogging by adjusting the machine for a higher intensity workout. Your joints may not hurt from jogging at first. However, yrs of jogging will do some damage. Plus, you should buy a good pair of sneakers to give your feet support. You don't need to buy $150 Nikes; just a good pair. Maybe New Balance.

Treadmill!!! Jogging can put too much pressure on your knees, ankels, feet, etc., Think about it, pound on those feet pound pound pound!
It don't matter how much you sweat, just get a proper work out. wait till you are way back in shape before jogging, otherwise power walk. But really, a treadmillis the way to go. There are ones that incline and some speeds vary, that you can control, and you can end up jogging on it too, safely at home!!!

Treadmills get boring quickly and they're pretty expensive. Jogging gets you out seeing something besides the four walls of the room.

Personally, i like the treadmill when i can't leave the house or when it's cold/raining/icy outside. I like jogging in beautiful weather. Either is better than sitting on the couch.
