Telling us what you have claimed as withholding allowances does not allow anyone to calculate your tax refund. Do you have children? A mortgage? Property taxes?

Lets assume you have none of that. Your $45,000 will be reduced by about $8,500 for the standard deduction and personal exemption. That leaves you with about $36,500. Using the 2005 tax table (I can't lay my hands on the 2006 one right now) gives you a liability of $5,796. So your federal refund will be about $1,200.

As you did not say what state you are from I cannot say how much you will get back from the state.
