Lately I have come to believe that our involvement in Iraq looks a bit grim.Didn't Americans fight patriotically and passionately for their freedom? The same can be said about the Indians and others.Washington ,Gandhi and Mandella are the protagonists that come to mind .I'm not seeing any patriots in the Middle-East.The word Islam means to submit .So who are they going to submit to ?The West, Iran or the UN?

It totally possible to fight for someone elses freedom. But if they don't stand up, it's in vain. They have to stop being bullied. They can't be helped for ever.
And as for "Islam" meaning "submit", I think the problem is whom to submit to. Thus the fighting. I really don't think ANYONE (even the ones we're fighting for) wants the West and our ways over there. Which is fine with me, bring our troops home.

The war in Iraq was over oil, plain and simple, possibly the "w"'s personal vendetta against saddam for trying to kill his daddy, possibly not.The Government had the one responsible for 911, Osama bin Laden, pinned down in Afghanistan, what did they do? Pulled their troops out of afghanistan, Why? Oil. Because the bin Laden family has done millions of dollars of business with the Bush family. Then, they created operation Iraqi freedom (o.i.f.)as a diversion(aaaaaand nothing up my sleeve)to distract you from the truth that these people were innocent and were being picked on for no reason, but the war in Iraq has been called several things in a very short time, part of the diversion. Originally they were going to call it"Operation Iraqi Liberation" , but pulled it at the last minute, why? O.I.L.

I'm from Aus and i'm not happy about the war either. I feel terribly sorry for all those who have been dragged into it, both civilians and military.
I really wish people would put more effort into peaceful solutions before rushing off to go to war. However this is just the way society is today.

I do not believe Islam should submit to anyone, I think they should continue to fight for what they believe but not with war.

All wars look grim. And yes it is possible to fight for someone else's freedom.Just look at all of the names on the Vietnam Wall, and ask someone in their 60's or 70's about the wars they fought in and the friends and family members they lost just to give US freedom.Without all of those brave heros, men and women,we would not be sitting in front of these computers.

I guess it's time for us to move out of there.

It was a mistake, anyway.
