Virtually all Linux distros have support for multiple partition types including FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 and multiple versions of NTFS.

I use SuSE 9 and can only access NTFS devices as read-only - this means I can read my Windows files but not write them. I believe with FAT32 you can get full r/w access.
