Im going to my local pub tonight and I know this lad Ive liked for ages will be there. I think he knows I like him even though he is shy how can I attract his attention? How will I know if he likes me?

Look at him, don't sit at a place where he can't approach, stay at the bar. Keep looking his way. If he looks for long enough say "Hi". If he does nothing after that forget it.

The best thing is to show your self confidence really. He will probably get a good impression of you if you approach him with a big and confident smile and say hello. If he is not drinking, offer him a drink, if he is finishing his drink, offer him another one, if his glass is full, ask him to fill yours. Always with a big smile, chit chat about the weather, work, other types of pubs, what is important is that you keep your smile and are positive. That sort of attitude attracts people easily and if he fancies you, that should be the beginning of a very nice date.

Why don't you try and get to the bar at the same time has him, or pass him on his way back from the toilet or something - arrange a situation which will get the two of you momentarily away from your group of friends and just smile, say hello, and be yourself. What's the worst that can happen? You may as well just go for it and initiate conversation, there's no regret in trying something quite like there is in never finding the courage xx

Attract his attention by saying hi, or if you're too shy, look at him and when he catches your eye, look away
There's body language hints for when someone likes you:
Their foot points to the most interesting thing in the room
They make eye contact with you for about 3 seconds and then look away
They smooth down their clothes
And the obvious things like giving compliments etc.

the answer is simple, really hard to actully do it but in theory simple. go talk to him, flirt a little and see what happenes, im sure if he dosnt like you it will become clear soon enough and if he does then go for it! :)
