Beginning and intermediate photographers always have the same kinds of subjects (landscapes, flowers, pets, still life, the shot with the car lights trailing at night, the shot of something reflected on a building, the sky, clouds in the sky, the moon, sunrises, sunsets, their family, their new baby, people who are far away--taken with a telephoto lens). It doesn't hurt to do these shots, just realize that you are doing what everyone else does as far as subject matter, but you may be learning a lot about light, and the mechanics of photography.
If you have done all of this, then you are probably ready to start really shooting from the point of view of an artist.

A good knowledge of tech. matters helps a lot in expressing and experimenting on the image in your mind. Multiple exposure, various filters (including polarisers, diffraction, multi-image, softfocus), studio lighting equipment (lights, screens, reflectors, stands & booms). For inspiration, look what others have created. Then take a look at the world. Soooner or later you are bound to see something that triggers you. Capture and experiment... maybe try again...! Creativity alone may not win here. There is an element of luck in it....

It's natural you have to let it come to you. Beatiful things are everywhere weither it be the tree in a cold day, or the boy holding a grocery bag. It all has to do with angles and lighting. A ugly picture can be made beautiful by making the obeject the main focus and having a good background but not something to big to distract from the main object.

Well, for some ideas, I get them in dreams or when I'm on the verge of falling asleep. Stress is a creative block for me though.
