i was seeing this guy for 3 months and ended due to the fact that he was just out of a 3 year relationship and he wasn't ready to committ to another so i felt i was going to get hurt and pulled away from him but i was happy to remain friends and told him this, now it seems that he is angry with me why so if it was only sex for him i just did what i though was right for me. why is he been like this.

You probably need to leave him alone and let him get over it, you told him what you wanted and he honestly hasn't told you.
So don't worry and just get on with your life.
Sounds like he just wanted to have casual sex with you anyway and not commit to anyone in particular. If he is angry when you express yourself then he is not worth worrying about.

He feels rejected and is striking out which is selfish because he obviously isn't very understanding or compassionate towards your feelings. He makes it seem like it's all about him, as if you've insulted him somehow. How rude of him.
You see the real person after you break up with them. Be glad you found out now how he is.
