Drink lots of water (at least 1 litre a day). It helps in nourishing the skin and keeping it young and healthy.
Try creams enriched with oils. You need to seal of your skin to prevent water loss. Moisturizers won't do cause they have more water than oil.
I suggest you try using a very mild cleanser (containing no soap, preferably with cream and not gel) and apply cream during the day. You can use night-cream (which usually is more enriched with oils) at night. I have oily skin and find sun block creams extremely oily. Try that as your daytime cream. It will also protect your skin from the sun and prevent further water loss.
A good home-made mask once in a while is not a bad thing. Avocados, banana and pineapple are good choices. Mix it with yogurt and a few oats. Also great to eat them too.
Just remember the creams help to prevent water evaporating from the skin. Its a small fix but for long-term use you have to drink lots of water and add in a few fruits and vegetables on your shopping list.

first, you should really see a dermatologist!! or you may not be using the products correctly...one secret: always apply the product immediately after blotting your skin dry with a towel; it locks in any moisture left in from the cleansing...gently massage it in so it can 'soak in' so to speak and do its job....do not use too much; just enough that you have to massage in for a few seconds, then it should disappear, & your skin feel moist but not sticky or slippery...........but if you are having that much of problem after trying all those things, a dermatologist should be your next step & see what they tell you..........good luck!

Try exfoliating first with a good scrub and then applying the moisturizer. The dead skin cells may be getting in the way.

Using lotion is really the best way to get softer skin. Try asking your doctor if he has any suggestions.

am not sure whether i am right, but i would feel applying things outside the body won't help because dryness will be controlled inside the body, try to have fruits and other natural good food which have cold property, which might build up your skin nerverous system to produce mositure

maybe the cleanser you used is too strong for your skin, try using a cream cleanser instead of form or soap to wash your face.
Also use a moisturing mask twice a week.
