Syria is a very beautiful country located in Middle east, having borders with Lebanon,Turkey, Jordan, Israel and Iraq. Damascus, the capital is the oldest city in the world and Syria has many ancient historically important monuments.
They were the inventors of the well known food "kebab" afterwards taken by Turks when Syria was under captivity for almost 500 years.

All the above answers are correct, Syria is a country. I live and work in Saudi Arabia, it is a country on the Arabian peninsula between the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf. To the immediate North West of here is a country called Jordan. To the East of Jordan is Iraq. Syria lies between Iraq to the East ,Jordan to it's South West and Turkey to it's North, Israel and Palestine to it's West....a volatile combination....I wouldn't want to live there right now...

Get yourself a map of the Eastern Mediterranean (that's the sea between Europe and Africa) look at the eastern rim until you find Turkey, then follow the coast soutwards. There is Lebanon, and east of Lebanon is Syria.
