4 Step Process
a)Open IE Browser.
b)On the top Menu Bar, left click the last option Help (it will give a drop down menu)
c)Click on About Internet Explorer
d)Check the version.

Go to Help>>and select About Internet Explorer
or if u using IE7 first right click on black space in main toolbar or just right of tabs. and then select classic Menu options, this will enable the classic menu. and then do the first line process.
