It depends on your metabolism. We are all different. you could eat that junk and stay skinny for years until you get older and stop burning it so fast. But, that doesn't mean it's healthy. Skinny people can be unhealthy too. Where I can eat the same thing and I'd be 10 lbs heavier in a few weeks. So, there are many factors to weight gain. Simply put you gain weight when you eat more calories than you burn. That varies with each person and at times the same person may gain or loose at a different rate also.

Test this theory for yourself by buying some scales.
There is no guarantee that you will gain weight from eating fatty foods.
You can put on weight from carbohydrate and possibly protein if your kilojoule intake exceeds your kj output.
Eat the good fats and avoid the bad ones particularly the trans fatty acids (most takeaways)

Depends what kind.. Carbohydrate foods release over time, while somethin like a Big Mac will go straight on your belly.
You're more likely to put weight on after 8pm though (given that you'd got out of bed around 8am)
There's good fats and bad fats too. Good fats can help your heart and keep your skin looking healthy. Bad fats are like a 300lb ballet dancer in the Royal Albert Hall.

It comes over time, not necesarily all at once.
Basically you will put on weight if you eat more calories than you burn off.
(dont get to confused with eating fatty foods = being bad.). Its sugar laden foods that are the worst.

Simple. When your energy (calorie) input (e.g. food) exceeds your energy (calorie) output (e.g. exercise).
Thats all there is to it. Fatty foods get stored quickly as fat and are high in calories, however unused carbohydrate and protein can also be stored as fat.
Use a site like www.fitday.com to monitor your calorie input and output.

most dieticians and fitness instructors would suggest only eating carbs at luch as this has given your body time to get its metabolism going while still allowing enough time for you to burn off the kcals.
Last thing at night is the worst as all the energy from food is unused and therefore converts to fat stores.
