I bought my wife an iron with a built in telephone from a man in the pub last night. Hopefully she will love it for Christmas if l can get it to work. Because it was cheap there are no instuctions, l plugged it into the mains but when l listen for the dial tone l keep burning my ears. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks all ;)

Don't worry! You have the latest in iron phone technology - it doesn't need a dialing tone!

What happens is that (as you have experienced) your ears heat up and this makes someone else think about you - the connection between people thinking about you and ears getting hot has been known for years. Then you simply communicate by the telepathic connection that's been established.

Your wife will be delighted

Was this guys name Trotter bu any chance? Try switching on the steam and if that does not work use the speakerphone setting. Also if you try to iron your underwear, do the ring tones sound like rude noises?

It sounds like the same man who sold me a 3G mobile with a built in microwave. Have you tried pressing the call button? If its faulty you won't hear anything but you'll get a lot of hot air.

I;m in this industry, i know about these things..

You need to set the dial according to the expected conversational style. They sometimes miss off the full labelling to keep things cheap.

wools - for waffle
cotton - for conversations
silk - for sultry talks
steam - for customerservices

Well Max, you got conned mate, irons cannot be phones, and unless you want to burn your wife to pieces, in an attempt to stop her using the phone so much, then this is a awful present lol :)

You need to use the earpiece with that model as it doesnt work without one. If he didnt supply you with the earpiece you were ripped off.
