seemly its hard for me to sleep every night because of these memories keep hunting me! is there any chance that i could actually avoid or stop thinking about it? i dont feel so good lately. please help.

I Am A Person Whos Past Is Very Much In MY Present When I Try And Sleep And It Has Made Me Physicaly Ill.I Can Tell You For Me The First Step Is To Forgive Yourself Because Without That Noone Else Can Forgive You!!Next I Found That I Needed God In My Life To Help Me Become The Person I Was Meant To Be .I Am Not Saying That All Of The Things I Have Done In My Past Have Vanished But I Can Tell You I Sleep And Feel Much Better About Who I Am Today!!

We are not wired that way. What happened to us in the past will follow us like a shadow. You need to get help by joining a support group for anything first. Most of these groups go through a similar program, just like what the AA uses.

You will uncomfortable the first few times, it's natural. You may not even feel like sharing, but, you need to let others know that's what you're feeling.

Once you feel comfortable, you will share and get a chance to listen to yourself. Being able to listen to yourself is one way to make a little clearer what's been only swimming in your head in vague and random forms. When you make something clear, you get in touch with your feelings and speak it out as it is. Your whole body will tell you what level your anger is, as you speak it. This is how some anger is released.

By now, you will know how group sharing works. Don't worry, you will walk yourself though many of your hurts. It will bring your anger level down, as you begin to later on work on forgiveness. But this will take some time to come round.

Just engage the whole day with some interesting works which wil divert ur attention from thinking abt the past. Read some good novels accompanied with a soothing music during the night which wil relax ur mind and puts u to sleep. Try to get good number of friends and keep in touch with them the whole day thru sms or chatting on the net or try to go out and meet them and share ur feelings with a frn who is close to u.

1st - stop and face what has been haunting you.
2nd.- realize that is was in your past
3rd - realize the past is gone and you cannot bring it back
4th - and that all you have left is the future and live it right'
5th - soon you will be able to sleep and forget and learn to live again.
