The horse, or equine, is a species in it's own right.
There are hundreds of breeds of horse. Some of the native breeds in the UK and Ireland are:
Welsh Section A (or Mountain Pony)
Welsh Section B
Welsh Section C
Welsh Section D (or Welsh Cob)
Exmoor Pony
Dartmoor Pony
New Forest Pony
Fell Pony
Shire horse
Suffolk Punch
Connemarra
Shetland
You could also count the Thoroughbred as a British breed as it originated here. However, the Thoroughbred is not a "natural" breed as it was created by mankind by using selective breeding.

As for the misleading word "species" in your question, the horse is classified in the Linnaenus nomenclature as such:
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Mammalia
Order: Perissodactyla
Family: Equidae
Genus: Equus
Species: Equus caballus
Equus ferus przewalskii is the only wild horse still in existence today.
