Do a lot of reading, and notice how people in books speak. Most of it is short sentences, just subject and verb and object. The simple vocabulary you learned in school is enough for most common, everyday activities, but you will pick up more words and come to understand how to use them if you will listen more than you speak, and don't worry about sounding simple when you speak. People who know the language is new to you will generally be kind, because English speakers generally know that English is an enormously complex language, and it takes a lot of time to learn to speak it well. Practice, practice, practice. You can have no fear if you have no false ego to protect. You make a mistake, just say, "Sorry," and try again.

And keep your dictionary handy. Do you know the meaning of all the words I just used in the paragraph above?

Find some written material in a subject that interests you, a book, love story, poetry, newspaper, technical manual, whatever you like. Then read it out loud. Reading out loud is the best way to practice speaking a language by yourself and get yourself used to speaking the language without fear. Record yourself on a tape recorder or computer, then play it back.

Even better, find a recording of a native speaker with accompanying text. Listen to the recording, reading along with the text, and try to say the words the way the native speaker says them.

I did a Google search on "gutenberg project recording" and found several MP3 recordings of works that are in Project Gutenberg ( http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page ), so you can download the text and a recording for free.

Good luck :-)

Simple...

Try to think in English before Speak, not in Hindi and do not translate Hindi to English in your mind when you about to speak. Think in English only.

Try This...

Good Luck..

Just keep listening to other people, read as much as you can. Look at movies with subtitles in English. Read comics with a lot of visual information, and keep on speaking!
