What is the origin of it?

Because in the 1950s it was "cool" to use swell just as "cool" was used in the 90s. During the 60's it was "dig it." Some people just don't keep up with the latest jargon.

Swell is an English word and means roughly the same as good.

Do people really say "swell"? I though it was just a made up word that they used in old Busby Berkeley movies from the 1930s.

Good question, this shows our intuitive knowingness of true reality. When we feel good and positive or energy field is larger and brighter, it literally swells with positive energy.

Oppositely when we are low and negative our field becomes weak and contracts...

There are hundreds of examples of this kind of inate knowing hidden in language which we fail to see all the time.


p.s: oxymorong.. whatever is full of it... First off I'm Irish and I don't live in the UK. let me spell it out for her as she is obviously very poorly educated most likely in America..WE ARE NOT BRITISH...

Dear it is not Swell but it is " Well " meaning Good.Nothing wrong with the people - it is hearing problem of you.
