How come it seems that the most judgmental and "in your face" group on the religion section seems to be the Christians?
For example, the Muslims and Jews don't seem so judgmental...they don't seem to be telling everyone that they're wrong and telling them that they're going to hell. Why is this?

I may be judgmental, but I am not saying they're wrong or bad people. I am just saying that more Christians on here are judgmental and condescending than any other group...even the atheists aren't as in your face. By the way I am not an atheist either. And I didn't say all Christians!

lourdes- I have met people from many different religions. I have very good friends who are Jewish. I have known and been close to many Muslims as well. Once again, I am talking about Yahoo Answers!!!!!!!!

Ok...I have been on here quite a while, as you can see. I have noticed a few things that Muslims have said, but not as much as what SOME of the Christians have said. There has been a lot more negativity and criticism on the Christian side! Is that what Jesus would do? I have read the bible, and I doubt he would've acted this way!

Ken D- No it seems that you have selective vision...I was not talking about anything outside of Yahoo Answers!!!!!!!!!

Avonlee- you have a good point I like your answer. However, you missed my point. I am not here to attack all Christians. I just see that there is quite a few on here attacking others, and trying to impose their morals and belief on other people in a negative way.

Zotta 1- I admitted I was judgemental...I'm not that upset...maybe just annoyed. Thanks for your opinion though!

Nemrod777- I like your answer. This is an example for others. Thank you!

Searching Truth- I have looked back at some of your question...you're pretty negative and judgmental too. Definitely not someone I would want to take advice from either. I would rather stick to positivity. Notice I am not trying to lump all Christians together. You were pretty abusive to the witches(Wiccans)

Yeah and I honestly feel sorry for them, using that stuff in the bible about "preaching the word" as their excuse, shame on them anyone who's read the bible knows in the first place it just says to tell people about jesus not to try to force people to accept him.Christians EVERYONE ON EARTH has heard about jesus if we're not all christian, it's because we don't wanna be. You can love your god,I don't care if you run around in your church screaming like a lunatic about your love for jesus, just quit trying to convert people, if they're interested in converting, they will.

I just answered a question that was directed at you. I had not looked at any of your Q's or A's before I answered. But now that I have, I apologize for grouping you in with the people I was talking about.

As to your question, and I happen to be a Christian, first I think it's wrong to judge others, even though I'm guilty of doing it at times. But I think that many Christians are so tired of being put down that they sometimes let their anger get the best of them.

As far as telling people they are going to hell? Well, only God decides the ultimate fate of anyone. But some Christians say that non Christians are going to hell because they believe that it's true. But the reality is that Christians will not have to face judgment ( the white throne judgment where God judges every person according to their works) and non Christians will face it and be judged according to their works.

It's up to God to decide whether or not someone's works are good or bad. Peace.

Ok I am new to the site. Tonight is the first night I have been on, and I have seen a little of the things you are speaking of. But the other thing I have seen is A LOT people attacking Christians. Calling their beliefs stupid. Behaving and speaking as if all Christians around the world are morons with sub par IQs, and that they are so much more evolved than they are. I have also seen several real jerks who have used questions that look like they are truly seeking answers from Christians and it is really just an oppourtunity to curse or to ridicle. I think in general there seems to be much more animosity coming from non Christians than from Christians, but I would say excuse a little bit of indignation after reading so much hate and distain tonight.

As for lack of flexibility in our beliefs. I guess here are some things that bother me. I occasionally watch the show the View. Joy Behar is a Jewish commedianne on that show. Her view is that all Christians who watched the Passion of Christ and believed it to be mostly factual, all Christians who say Jesus is the Messiah and He was killed by Jews are anti-semite. People get all offended when we say that if you do not believe in God and that Jesus was His Son, He lived a sinless life on earth and that He died on the cross as payment for everyones sin you will go to Hell and suffer eternal damnation when you die .(usually when asked because for me at least it is not a conversation starter)

Here is the thing. We believe in God. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, totally true from cover to cover, all the way to the part that says Genuine Leather on the back cover. Every chart, every map, every word. And if we believe that we have to believe Jesus was killed by Jews. Do we blame all Jews? No. He was killed by corrupt leaders in the church who saw that if people started following Him they would lose their power, so they worked very hard to have him executed. And the majority of the Jews in the church just made the mistake of trusting their leaders. Corruption is everywhere there is power on earth.

This means we must also believe what the bible teaches us about salvation and damnation. Are there not those among us who wish it was easier? Absolutely. This is a hard belief to sell. People get defensive. Would it not be easier on Christians if we could just say God loves you, hope you will come to church, but if I don't see you there I will see you in Heaven? Sure, but we have a moral obligation. If I saw you about to grab a hot pot, should I not warn you you will get burned? If you are drinking should I not take your keys? If you saw a child running into the street and cars were flying by would you not try to stop them? It is the same for us.

Unfortunately, Christianity too has its bad apples. And some of them tend to be the most vocal.

Sorry you had some bad experiences. I hope you will see some better ones.

The Christians did the same thing to the Native Americans that Hitler did to the Jews now they want to convert the world to that? Dear Mr. Bush is a born again Christian and when he came down off the mountain from talking with God sent America to War YEAH!! to kill people. Christians is this what you want for the world, Seems to me the Christians are more to make assumptions and be judgmental than other religion. The whole lot of them are a bunch of hum bug.

A very young Christian many times becomes over-zealous, They give their life to God one day & the next day they are trying to tell the world what is in the Bible, Friend, I have been a Christian for over 36 yrs. You can see that I am not a novice but mature in the Lord. In my time on this site, I have many times seen muslims putting Christians down, But they do that mainly behind our backs & they call us Christians Infidels, & Atheists calls us stupid, I am not one bit afraid to sit down with anyone with a different ideal, But when all said & done, who will still be left there in that onversation, Only a TRUE Christian, all others will try to run from God's word. I am at peace with God's word.

I used to feel that way too. Then I realized those people are not Christians that are judging you. If you ever meet a true Christian, it's a whole different story. My stepmother is a wonderful example of a Christian. She's actually a former nun! She was a nun for almost 20 years, and then she left before she met my father.

Anyway, she is very religious, but she's such a kind, non judgemental person. She is so dismayed by the conservation Christian sect as well that damns everyone else. Her position is it is not her place to judge anyone's journey in life. It is so refreshing to talk to someone like her. She has rekindled my desire to become baptized and incorporate religion into my life.

I realized that I was judging Christians by assuming they were all "in your face" as well. And believe me there are plenty of Jewish and Muslim folk who are as equally radical as the conservation Christians. My bf is Jewish, and she thinks my attempts to incorporate Christianity in my life is laughable. She, like you, refuses to see that there are TRUE Christians in this world as well.

There are fundamentalist in every group and since you are writing in English then the majority of people you are exposed to are Christian. If you were exposed to an equal number of people in each group you find similarities in the people throughout. Many Cristian's do feel that they want you to believe and become Cristian, however, they lack the tact and or eloquence to reach others for that purpose. The Bible teaches judge not lest you be judged. Should we then consider them to not be true Christians? No, but they lack the social grace to be effective in the ministry. each of us has a different gift and the gift of teaching and/or preaching is not plentiful. Don't judge a group by the few.
Bless you.

Hey good point. Maybe its the same reason that America is at war. Or the reason why laws are passed for things that Christians helped make illegal. I think its the christian theme to care more about what others should not do than what they want to do.

They are total hypocrites. I totally agree with centriliu.(above)

I grew up in a christian family too. Im glad I got a solid education of science and society.

Good point. For some it might be the feeling of urgency in not wanting to see others miss out on what they believe is the answer. If you went to the Doctor and he knew you were gravely ill would you want him to spare your feelings or tell you what he knew to be the truth? The problem seems more in finding an audience that is receptive before trying to force someone to listen to a point of view. It would be better to live the life you know is correct and use that as a opportunity for conversation.

The Jews and the Muslims are to busy fighting each other. The Christians are doing what Christ would being doing if he was still walking the earth. The bible says "and you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free". Hell is a real place and we Christians don't want to see any body go to hell. Its just like you would do anything to steer your child in the right direction. Its the same thing with the Christians
