There is no such person as a non practicing Christian/Catholic! It is not culture, but belief, and practice. If you don't live it, you ain't it!

I'm an ex- catholic and practising Atheist as much as that can make sense . I remember the expression but never thought twice as I had not fallen away as they would have said so I must at least wonder if some non practising catholics adopt some of the insights but reject the creed and possiby even the god and the forbidden look into other ideas as was the rule when I was raised in the solemn rituals that so much resemble the Cynic of greek philosophy .Each to their own ....

I do not know much about "vegan", but as for non practicing - someone who has been raised in a religion but no longer is active in that religion for one reason or the other...
I do not go to church but do not say I am a non practising...I was made to be uncomfy around people, in church there are a lot of people lol! But when I go back to the church I grew up in it is like being back home!

I am a non practising Catholic. I have catholicism as my cultural heritage and I am proud to be identified with the philosophical tradition, the massive creation of art over the centuries, the sincere attempts to bring peace and morality to our civilization, but I don't believe in the supernatural teachings, and I have no use for the ranters that tell me what I should believe, what I am allowed to believe and what I am not supposed to do.

Well I think a non-practising Catholic, is someone who may not fully believe all we've been told and does not live the way the Church suggests, and they dont attend mass or anything like that but have been baptised

I would say that Non Practising Christians/Catholics means
They were once Practising Christians/Catholics but no longer doing so.
Sort of lapsed Catholic they call it.
Defined as no longer active or practicing; "a lapsed Catholic"

It's interesting to read one of the answers here from a non practising catholic who is so proud of the "Catholic heritage". while they do many wonderfull and charitable things now the traditions of the church appear to be sympathising with Nazis, torturing and burning Protestants and massacring Muslims. Despite their commendable patronage of the arts i think you can't really over look these little slips in moral judgement

i've never heard of a non practicing christian but a non practicing catholic means they don't go to mass and don't go to confession. they still have their catholic beliefs but they just don't participate in all of the catholic rituals on a regular basis. i guess you could say you are a non practicing vegan!

They say that because they claim to be Christians or Catholics, but they are too lazy to go to church or follow what the religion requires. It is just another sorry excuse.

Becuase somehow they think they are of that religion if they had to pick one on a survey but they don't really adhere to it's principles. Some people think they are Chrisitan because they are born in the United States. They are blind. They are secular technically speaking.
